Theophila Huriro Uwacu
Theophila joined the TIP team in 2013, and was promoted to the position of Director of E-Heza Data Solutions in 2018. In this role, she oversees the design and development work of E-Heza Data Solutions by ensuring that frontline health care workers have the tools to facilitate and simplify their workflows, allow them to utilize the latest protocols, educate patients, and use data trends to provide immediate interventions based on the patient’s needs. She is also leading the scale up of E-Heza across different health facilities. With her expertise in stakeholder engagement, she also supports the organization’s external relations in working with the Rwandan government and new and existing partners to adopt new innovations.
From 2013-2017, she served as TIP Global Health’s Data Specialist with the ambitious task of managing the data that was generated from all program areas. In this role she also led the research needed for the creation of E-Heza Data Solutions, the first point-of-care digital health record used in Rwanda.
Prior to joining TIP Global Health, Theophila conducted the baseline assessment that guided TIP’s understanding of the community needs and determination of the area of intervention. She also has experience working with other institutions such as Rwanda Biomedical Centre, University of Rwanda School of Public Health, and district hospitals where she served as the data manager.
Theophilia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Statistics and is a candidate for a Master’s of Business Administration in Project Management.
