Diana Rujema
Diana is a passion-driven researcher and educator with comprehensive knowledge and experience in social development projects, higher education in culturally diverse settings, qualitative research, and community engagement. She has extensive expertise in generating evidence for advocacy, and training programs addressing inequities faced by marginalized rural communities, youth, people living with disability, and people living with HIV/AIDS in Rwanda & Kenya. She also holds a Master’s degree in Global Health Delivery and an undergraduate degree in Development Studies. As an educator, she has worked on creating learning environments suitable for culturally diverse adult students in the master’s program, developing a curriculum on purposeful engagement with the deaf community for medical students (MBBS), and training secondary teachers in sparking student interest and engagement in Science and Math at the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) and Nigeria respectively. As a qualitative researcher, she has guided the design, data management, analysis, and write-up of qualitative research projects focused on pandemic response in low-resource settings, measuring and defining equity in health projects, and exploring the impact of the Tigray war on the health and education sectors in Ethiopia. She has developed and published a qualitative manuscript on analysing community perceptions of a newly established higher education institute in Rural Rwanda.
