Reflections on 2022 from Dr. Diana Nambatya Nsubuga
In my six months with TIP Global Health, it has been my pleasure to get to work alongside my dedicated and thoughtful colleagues. I chose to join TIP because I was impressed by the ecosystem of care – from primary to national – that the work supports through dashboards that enable informed decision making and a streamlining of the healthcare model.
Together, our team has accomplished much in just the short time since I joined TIP. My colleagues here at TIP have provided me with much background on the organization and assisted me in getting up to speed on the work very quickly and efficiently. In working with our Board of Directors, Strategic Advisors, and other stakeholders, I have gotten a better understanding of the organization and how it is poised for growth.
Recently, TIP Global Health was invited to serve as an advisor to Africa CDC because of our expertise in building inclusive, hopeful communities and systems of health. The Africa CDC Community Health team invited me to facilitate a Regional Situational Analysis of Community Health for Northern, Western, Central, Eastern and Southern Africa countries. I was given the opportunity to present about TIP Global Health’s work. During these meetings and presentations, I was approached by Ministries of Health from over ten countries to request that TIP provide technical support and bring E-Heza Data Solution to their communities. Currently, TIP Global Health is undergoing a scoping exercise and engaging in conversations with these Ministries of Health and Africa CDC to discuss what the scale-up of TIP’s programs in these countries could look like.
In Rwanda, thanks to the leadership of Dr. Valens Hafashimana the Country Director, we will partner with the national government to scale our work in ten districts through the National Child Development Agency (NCDA). We are in the process of signing the Memorandum of Understanding so that we can begin this work soon. We also recently supported the Rwandan Ministry of Health in a strategic working group to create a country roadmap, along with other partners UNICEF, IntraHealth, and RBC.
The future is bright at TIP Global Health, and this is all thanks to your strong support of our work! It’s partners like you who give me, my colleagues at TIP, and our strategic partners hope for the future of our work. Without you there would be no TIP Global Health. We appreciate your belief in our work and for standing together with us as we work to build a more hopeful future for all.
