Building Stronger Relationships with E-Heza Data Solutions
Shena is a Community Health Worker in her village. The Covid-19 pandemic took a toll on her mental health as the health needs of her community increased greatly during that time. Even with that stress, she still had to continue to provide healthcare to the families in her community. She was constantly feeling overloaded by the paperwork that piled up between visits, and she was having difficulty managing her caseload and following up with patients who needed her. Each day, she worked hard to provide the best care possible and try to do as much as she could. Still, she didn’t feel like she was doing her best and felt like she was neglecting the mothers and children who depend on her. She wanted to be able to build relationships with those who sought care from her, but between numerous appointments and the manual data collection and logging, it was not possible.
Then, in October 2021, Shena had the opportunity to attend a training conducted by TIP Global Health with other frontline health workers. The group learned about how to provide the best care for those who rely on their services. The training not only taught her the latest in providing quality clinical care; it also reminded her about the importance of her work. It was also at this training that she learned how to utilize E-Heza Data Solutions, TIP’s digital health tool, to streamline her work, save her time, and improve her relationships with her patients. Shena finished the training feeling more confident in her abilities and is excited to provide healthcare in her community.
Today, Shena utilizes E-Heza at each appointment, digitally logging information provided by her patients into the application. After the collection of the data, E-Heza assists Shena in providing the proper recommendations for each patient. Shena now feels more confident in her work, and has benefitted greatly from the reduction in paperwork. Because E-Heza was designed in coordination with frontline healthcare workers, Shena’s use of E-Heza is streamlined for her work, providing a streamlined approach to care visits.
Now, Shena is able to spend more time learning about those she cares for in her community. At each visit, she can now build trusting relationships by interacting with people on a more personal level, instead of being bogged down by follow up paperwork. E-Heza also provides Shena reminders on when to follow up with patients, helping her patients feel cared about, long after their initial visits.
“TIP renewed my hope and reminded me why I am a community health worker. I feel hopeful for the mothers and children I serve. I am happy for this job.”
