Anastasia M. Khoury Christianson, Ph.D

Anastasia is Vice President of R&D Business Technology at Janssen Pharmaceuticals and has more than 25 years of experience in Pharmaceutical R&D leading drug projects, data science and information technology initiatives and organizations. A scientist by training, she has championed numerous initiatives to drive innovation and adoption of digital technologies in drug discovery and development, translational science, and precision medicine. Anastasia has extensive experience mentoring leaders and organizations and driving transformational change, most recently as strategic advisor to TIP Global Health (formerly The Ihangane Project) guiding development of a strategic plan and roadmap for the future of E-Heza, their Digital Health Solution and Rwanda’s first point-of-care digital health record. Anastasia is passionate about innovation, digital transformation, and using advanced analytics and decision sciences to drive evidence-based, data-driven decision making.

Anastasia joined Janssen in December 2016 from Leidos Biomed where she was Senior Vice President of Data Science and Information Technology at Frederick National Lab for Cancer Research. Prior to this, she was Head of Translational R&D IT at Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) where she led advanced analytics and system development in support of BMS’ transformation to specialty biopharma. Before BMS, Anastasia spent 20 years at AstraZeneca in positions of increasing scope and responsibilities starting out as a Senior Scientist leading drug projects and progressing to Senior Director of R&D Information. Anastasia has received numerous awards for driving innovation in R&D and is a respected thought leader in translational and biomedical informatics

Anastasia completed her doctoral and post-doctoral studies at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University and Executive Leadership training at Harvard Business School.
